Rogers High School pulled off a nail-biting 58-49 overtime win against Middletown High School in a thrilling Wednesday night Boys Basketball matchup.

The game, hosted at Middletown High, saw a milestone moment as Middletown’s Patrick Cranson reached his 1,000th career point.

Cranson’s clutch performance included a game-tying three-pointer while drawing a foul late in the fourth quarter. However, he couldn’t convert the potential go-ahead free throw in the final seconds.

In the extra period, Rogers took control to secure the victory. Alex Toribio led the charge for Rogers with 21 points, while Cranson topped the scoreboard for Middletown with 22.

The win boosts Rogers’ season record to 6-4. They’re set to take on St. Raphael Academy High School next, with the game scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at The Hut – Martin Recreation Center.

Middletown’s record now stands at 4-7 after the loss. They’ll look to bounce back on Tuesday when they host Moses Brown High School at Middletown High, with tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
