The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate on a Sunday/Holiday service schedule on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Columbus Day.
RIPTA offices, with the exception of the Newport Transportation Center, will be closed on Monday. The Kennedy Plaza Transportation Center Ticket Window will also be closed. However, the RIPTA Customer Service Kiosk at the Newport Transportation Center will remain open.
Flex Services will not be available on Monday, with the exception of Route 203 (URI/Narragansett/South Kingstown), which will run on a Sunday schedule from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Flex Service reservation line will be unstaffed.
The RIde Program will operate on a holiday schedule on Monday. Standing order trips will not be provided. Passengers requiring a ride on the holiday must call the RIde reservation line at 401-461-9760 before Oct. 14 to schedule a trip. The reservation line will not be staffed on Monday, but passengers can leave a voicemail message to schedule trips for the following day.
