The Tony Award-winning musical “Shucked” will begin its North American tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

“Shucked,” written by Tony Award nominee Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, is a semi-neurotic, New York comedy writer paired with two music superstars from Nashville. The production is a “farm-to-fable musical about the one thing Americans everywhere can’t get enough of: corn,” described by the producers as “a hilarious and audacious farm-to-fable musical about the one thing Americans everywhere can’t get enough of: corn. Shucked is the new musical comedy that proves sometimes tearing down a few walls, rather than growing them, is the only way to preserve our way of life. Shucked is turning musical theater on its ear and is offering a kernel of hope for our divided nation.”

The cast of the production includes 20 members, including Miki Abraham, Tyler Joseph Ellis, Danielle Wade, and Zakiya Baptiste.

Shucked will play the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island from October 20 – 27, 2024. Following this, the tour will visit TPAC in Nashville, the home of Grammy winning writers Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. The current route can be found here.
