Portsmouth Police Department announced on Tuesday that they have charged an individual with soliciting a minor.

In a press release, Portsmouth Police Department said that its Detective Division arrested Jacob Garzarelli, 32, of Coventry, on Monday, September 16, following an investigation into the solicitation of a minor for sexual activity.

“The investigation revealed that Jacob Farzarelli had traveled from Fall River, Massachusetts to the Portsmouth area to engage in sexual activity with a fourteen-year-old juvenile female,” Portsmouth Police shares in the press release.

Portsmouth Police says that detectives located Jacob Garzarelli inside a business on East Main Road in Portsmouth, subsequently taking him into custody. “Inside Jacob Garzarelli’s vehicle, detectives located a USB drive, a tablet, and numerous other items of evidentiary value. A search of the tablet resulted in the location of a pornographic minor image.”

Portsmouth Police says that Garzarelli was arraigned on the following charges at the 2nd Division District Court – Indecent Solicitation of a Minor, Electronically Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors, and possession of Child Pornography.
