The MLK Community Center invites the community to a free, family-friendly Children’s Day celebration on Sunday, September 22, from 10 am to 12 pm to celebrate 4,000 kids enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The celebration will be held at the MLK Community Center at 20 Dr Marcus Wheatland Blvd, Newport, and features performances by the Toe Jam Puppet Band and Lon Cerel, the Children’s Musician. All are welcome. Refreshments will be provided. The event is rain or shine.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of children worldwide, from birth to their 5th birthday. There is no cost to parents. Every month, a hand-selected, age-appropriate, high-quality book is mailed to enrolled children. The generosity of the Bazarsky Family Foundation makes Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at the MLK Community Center possible.
