The Alliance Française de Newport is starting its new year of French language and culture classes on Sept. 17, 2024. The classes are divided into three levels: French 1-Beginner, French 2-Intermediate and French 4-Conversation Salon.
The French 1-Beginning and French 2-Intermediate classes will take place on the campus of Salve Regina University in Newport. The French 4-Conversation Salon will meet at the home of the Leader in South Kingstown. The classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
No textbook is required for the French 1-Beginning class. The class begins on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 a.m. No textbook is required for the French 2-Intermediate class. The first class for French 2-Intermediate and French 1-Beginning is Tuesday, September 17th. The French 4-Conversation Salon is $75 fee and will meet on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. The salon is a relaxed setting where conversation is mostly in French over a glass of wine. Topics are sometimes assigned in advance.
An Alliance Française membership is required in addition to the fee. The membership fee is $45. Registration is required and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Alliance Française de Newport website has more information about the classes and how to register.

The Alliance Française de Newport is offering three levels for learning French language and culture for the Fall 2024 semester: French 1-Beginning, French 2 -Intermediate and French 4-Conversation Salon.
There is still time to register to learn French and to savor the joys of French culture.
The French 1-Beginning and French 2-Intermediate classes will be held on the campus of Salve Regina University, Newport, at the O’Hare Academic Building located on the corner of Ochre Point Avenue and Shepherd Avenue. The French 4-Conversation Salon will meet at the home of the Leader in South Kingstown.
French 1 – Beginning French-Tuesday 7:00 – 8:00, O’Hare Room 203- $150 fee
First Class September 17th.
No textbook is required. Instructor will suggest materials for further study.
French 2 – Intermediate French-Tuesday 5:30 – 6:30, O’Hare Room 203- $150 fee
First Class September 17th.

French 4 – Conversation Salon-Thursday 6:00, Home of Leader- $75 fee
First Meeting September 19th.
Relaxed atmosphere with conversation totally in French usually over a glass of wine.
