Los Duderinos

Newport’s music scene around Broadway has been gaining regional attention lately and Los Duderinos have been at the forefront of that movement. The group has become a favorite on Sunday nights at Pour Judgment, happy to entertain the late-night crowd that doesn’t want the weekend to end with sets starting at 10 pm.

Los Duderinos is made up of Atticus Allen on guitars and vocals, Colin Bradley on organ, Chuck Ciany on sax, guitar and vocals, Louis LoCicero on guitar, David Passafiume Jr. on drums, Jonny Sage on bass and Nick Sanfilipo on keyboards. The group is at home playing both eclectic covers and their own original arrangements with lots of improvisation in between.

The 3 hour concert on July 14th opens with Rhode Island musician and broadcaster Bill Bartholomew at 3pm. His successful podcast Bartholomewtown covers Rhode Island news with in-depth interviews, commentary and reporting. Bartholomew is touring all over the northeast this summer including a spot at the BlissRI indie music festival on July 27th . His new EP “Icy” is due out this autumn.

NIMFest, short for Newport Independent Music Festival, has become a favorite summer concert series  in Newport, celebrating local and regional artists in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event is free and open to the public, inviting music lovers from across Rhode Island to enjoy an afternoon of live music in one of Newport’s most scenic parks.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to fully enjoy the outdoor concert experience. The public is encouraged to carpool as parking is limited. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. All concerts are scheduled for 3pm to 6pm with the possibility of rain dates in September, if necessary.

The free outdoor concert series is made possible by the City of Newport, New England Music Organization and North End Entertainment thanks to a generous gift from the Hamilton Family Foundation.
