Work on the Pell Bridge Ramps project will involve temporary shoulder closures next week.
Today, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) provided an update on the Pell Bridge Ramps project;
“Our sitewide weekday operations next week involving shoulder closures, Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., will focus on continuing to spread loam and seed, finalizing the fiber optic cables and programming the cabinets for the DMS signs, striping the shared use path and Park and Ride, and installing signage”.
RIDOT also shared the following travel advisories for Newport County for June 29 – July 5, 2024.
Newport Pell Bridge Approaches – Phase II
Newport: Sitewide weekday operations continue next week involving shoulder closures, Mon. – Wed, & Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. will focus on continuing to spread loam and seed, finalizing the fiber optic cables and programming the cabinets for the DMS signs, striping the shared use path and Park and Ride, and installing signage.
Temporary Road Closure
Jamestown: North Rd., from Weeden Ln. to Westwind Dr., road closed for milling, Tues. night, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Follow signed detour and use caution when driving over milled surfaces.
Little Compton: South of Commons Rd., from Commons Rd. to Swamp Rd., road closed for pavement improvements, Sun. – Tues. nights, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Follow signed detour.
Weekday
Jamestown: North Rd., from Weeden Ln. to Westwind Dr., alternating one-way traffic for paving, Wed., 8 a.m. – 1 a.m.
