The following is a press release from Newport Art Museum announcing “Bauhaus Spirit: 100 years of Bauhaus Film Screening at Newport Art Museum’s Art After Dark in partnership with Art & Design Film Festival”.

Newport Art Museum’s Art After Dark is back on Thursday, April 11 from 5 – 8 pm. Each Art After Dark has unique programming for the whole family. This event joins the ranks of the many events and educational programs the Museum currently offers in its galleries at 76 Bellevue Avenue, Newport. Art After Dark is supported by BankNewport, Matouk and Narragansett Brewery as well as donations to the Museum’s Annual Fund.

This month, Art After Dark will welcome the Art & Design Film Festival with a screening of Bauhaus Spirit: 100 years of Bauhaus. The film follows the fascinating evolution of the Bauhaus movement and its legacy; the contemporary artists, scientists and architects who keep the unfinished utopian project alive. Bauhaus-inspired art making will begin at 5 pm in the gallery, followed by the screening at 6 pm. This screening kicks off the second week of the Art & Design Film Festival and is the third year of its partnership with the Museum.

Admission to Art After Dark is free for Members, and a suggested $10 donation for non-Members. Film tickets are $10 and available at newportartmuseum.org. Cash bar and light refreshments will be available.
