Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice, formerly known as Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties, has announced the appointment of Anita Soares, BSN, CHPN, CHPCA to be the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care.
Ms. Soares brings many years’ experience managing Hospice and Palliative Care programs to her new role. Since 2005 Ms. Soares was employed by Beacon Hospice as a clinical supervisor, then director, and then regional director for Beacon. After a brief time with Kindred Hospice starting in 2016, Ms. Soares was recruited to be the leader of Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice’s program.
Ms. Soares’ goals for the Hospice and Palliative program at Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice are twofold: She plans to maintain the high quality of hospice and palliative care, and she plans to increase the census of patients on the programs through expanding regionally, transitioning a solid home care experience to a continuum of palliative and hospice care within the same agency, and marketing more effectively to referral sources.
Ms. Soares is a long term resident of Swansea, Massachusetts, where she raised two now-grown children and lives with her husband, Mark. She is a garden enthusiast and also loves to travel.
