Judith Sullivan, 77 of Newport, Rhode Island died Friday March 17th, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Born on May 14th, 1939 in Brockton Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Biando and Rita Giovanniello, and sister of the late Michael Giovanniello.

Judith moved to Newport in 1972, with her husband, Newport native William H. Sullivan Jr. She spent many years as a secretary at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Newport, and also worked for the Preservation Society of Newport in the Breaker’s gift shop.

Judith was a devout Catholic and a diehard New England Patriots fan.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Sullivan and son Patrick Sullivan, both of Newport, Rhode Island.

She was predeceased by her husband William, to whom she was married for 57 years.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church, Spring Street, Newport at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Newport Memorial Park, Howland Avenue in Middletown.
