Reginald P. Parker, Sr., 85, of Middletown died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

He was the husband of the late Rita Marion (Holmes) Parker

Born on March 16, 1931 in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late John and the late Zoe (Munro) Parker.

Mr. Parker served in the United States Navy during, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring after 20 years of active duty and 10 years with the fleet reserve. He worked for Oday Yacht Building and Person Yacht and also at Spruce Acres as a Landscaper.

He is survived by his children, Reginald P. Parker Jr. of GA, Sean L. Parker of MA, Guy F. Parker of Middletown, and Kimberly Downes of Middletown, RI, his brother Vernon Parker of GA, his sister Barbara Lozotte of FL, fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Keith Parker and Jay Parker.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 10-12 with a funeral service at 12pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.

Burial will be private.
