The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for all of Rhode Island, the Advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. on Thursday evening until 6 a.m. on Friday morning.

Winds will blow 20 to 30 mph out of the west, with gusts up to 50 p.m.

The National Weather Service forecast for Newport today calls for a chance of snow before 10am, then rain. High near 44. South wind 7 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
The National Weather Service forecast for Newport tonight calls for a chance of rain, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a west wind 14 to 19 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
