Rhode Island’s ballet theatre (RIbt) performs its Newport Holiday show at the Casino Theatre. The show is Sunday, December 18th at 3pm.  The dance performance includes the storybook children’s ballet “Alice in Wonderland” as well as excerpts from the traditional Nutcracker.  In addition, there will be a special guest singing performance.

“As a training performance company we find the children relate well to our gifted young dancers and having the opportunity to perform to an enthusiastic audience is a big plus. Our holiday show is always exciting and fun and we’re very much looking forward to performing in Newport again this season, as part of the Christmas In Newport series.  We’re especially happy to have as a special guest, another talented children’s group, The Professional Choristers from The Choir School of Newport.  They performed recently at the Arts and Cultural Alliance (ACA) Annual Meeting and having heard their wonderful voices I’ve asked them to participate in our show.  All the performances should be very entertaining, especially for young children, it’s a great introduction to the arts and live performance”, says Nancy McAuliffe, Artistic Director for RIbt.

Reserve seating tickets are priced at $25 and are available online at RIbt’s website www.riballet.org.  The Casino Theatre is on 9 Freebody St in Newport, RI.
