This week I was able to pay a visit to some of our favorite places in Portland, Maine. With Portland having so much to choose from here are our favorite four breweries we think you should visit, As well some of them flowing from our tap lines at The Wharf Pub (The Pub)!
1. Allagash Brewing Co Fluxus 2016- Currently on draft at The Pub, Fluxus is brewed differently every year to commemorate Allagash’s anniversary of they’re first beer sold in 1995. This year’s Fluxus is aged in oak gin barrels that were previously used for Bar Hill Tom Cat Gin. The end result is a delicious Saison with notes of ginger and vanilla. Be sure to show some love to Dylan, Billy or Dan who work for and at the brewery. Brewery located in Portland, Maine.

2. Baxter Brewing Co Hayride Autumn Ale- Being served soon at the pub, Hayride is Baxter’s fall seasonal that comes back every year. Brewed with New Zealand, Pacifica and Pacific Jade hops then aged on oak with black pepper and Spanish orange peel giving it a kick on the end. Brewery located in Lewiston, Maine.
3. Maine Beer Company Peeper – To be on draft this week, Maine Beer is back! American Ale balanced with American hops, with notes of grapefruit and citrus. Come grab a glass while it lasts! Brewery located in Freeport, Maine.
4. Oxbow Blending & Bottling Tasting Room – Not available in the state of RI, but too good not to mention. This facility is home to the barrels and tanks where they age funky and sour beers. If you’re in Portland… Stop in for a taste! Open 7 days a week.
