Runners and volunteers are invited to participate in this weekend’s Newport 10 Miler, one of the most unique road races in Rhode Island featuring stunning views from start to finish.
The Newport 10 Miler, set to take place on June 5th, is a ten-mile run/walk that starts and finishes at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, the race starts outside the east walls of the Fort before leaving the park and taking a right onto Harrison Ave.
The course then takes a slight right onto Ridge Rd. and continues on to the famed Ocean Drive from mile two through six, featuring unparrelled scenic oceanfront racing. The course will then turn left onto Bellevue Avenue for one mile and run past many of Newport’s world famous mansions. Participants will then work their way back towards Fort Adams for just under two miles, before turning right into the state park once again and finishing inside the walls of the Fort!
The event was sold out but after some registration cancellations late last week, there is a limited number of registrations now available.
Gray Matter Marketing, the organizers of this event, are seeking support for the runners at water stations and at the finish line. All volunteers are working in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County and the Fort Adams Trust. These organizations are the recipients of $20,000 in proceeds from this race.
Email email@example.com if you are able to volunteer.
