While visiting Newport on Tuesday, Representative Doreen M. Costa weighed in on the current conditions of roads in Newport and Rhode Island.

On her personal Facebook Page, Costa was critical of the current conditions of the roads in Newport saying; “If you want to find the WORST roads in Rhode Island just drive around Newport… For the love of God”.

UPDATE: Representative Costa deleted her comment after this story was published.

Costa is a Republican and has represented Rhode Island House District 31, which includes Exeter and North Kingstown, since being elected in November 2010.

In April 2014, she was appointed as the vice chairwoman of the House Judiciary Committee.  She is also a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Newport is represented in the House of Representatives by Representative Lauren Carson (District 75, Newport) and Representative Marvin Abney (District 74, Newport and Middletown).
