2 – Joop & Jake Kids Show
Friday from 5pm to 8pm at O’brien’s
This is a great kid friendly family show. Joop on guitar and Jake on percussion play the current hits and get the little ones involved. Kids eat for free with the purchase of an adult meal.
3 – Family Movie Night at Kay Chapel – Screening of “Ratatouille”
7pm at Kay Chapel at Hotel Viking
Hotel Viking has opened up Kay Chapel to the public on Friday nights for family movie night! Join them for a free family friendly movie every Friday and make it a family night out in Newport. The movie is free and we’ll be offering dinner specials at One Bellevue before the movie. Movies start at 7PM at Kay Chapel (corner of Church and High Streets).
4 – IMC’s 1st Open Rehearsal of 2016
Friday at 7pm at Island Moving Company
See a work in progress with guest choreographer Jerry Opdenaker. Watch rehearsal then meet and greet the dancers and their guest choreographer with a nosh and a glass of wine. This is a free event. IMC studio, 3 Charles St, 2nd floor. RSVP at info@islandmovingco.org.
5 – Live Improv Comedy with The Bit Players
Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 8pm & 10pm at The Firehouse Theater
RI’s most award-winning comedy troupe hits the stage with their hilarious improv show full of larger than life characters, hysterical musical numbers, & the quickest wit you’ll ever see EVERY Fri & Sat night at 8pm. 6 – 20th Annual Wineterfest
Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 5pm
Celebrate the season at the all-new Newport Vineyards with our 20th Annual WINEterfest. Enjoy wine tastings, our infamous Ice Wine Bar overlooking the winter vineyard, live music, and food sampling from Brix Restaurant, Fatullis Bakery & Deli and a selection of local purveyors. Saturday, February 13 + Sunday, February 14 12pm 5pm $22 per person in advance ($25 per person at the door) Admission includes wine tasting & select number of samples.
7 – Family Fun Day at the Newport Skating Center

8 – Seal Watch Cruise & Lighthouse Tour
Saturday and Sunday at 1pm & 2pm
The Save the Bay seal tours and nature cruises are proof that summer isn’t the only time to enjoy the Bay! Join their expert guides aboard one of their educational vessels for a one-hour cruise and educational view of our winter marine visitors and the habitat they love. You’ll motor through historic Newport Harbor and take in 360° views of harbor seals resting on Citing Rock off of Rose Island and the Newport Bridge. They provide binoculars, and their boats are partially enclosed, but the Bay can be chilly so dress warmly. Special two-hour tours include a tour of historic Rose Island Lighthouse.

9 – Second Saturday: Lunar New Year
Saturday from 10am – 12pm at Newport Art Museum
“Second Saturday” is an engaging family-oriented program designed to inspire young minds and satisfy the curiosity of every member of the family. Each Second Saturday is uniquely curated based on a theme, and includes a variety of activities geared for ages 3-12. Facebook Event
Storytelling begins at 10:15am, Lantern-making crafts ongoing, Family Friendly Museum Tour 11:45am with a visit to the Cushing permanent collection and Griswold Hunt scavenger hunt. Admission is free, preregistration recommended.
10 – Cru Cafe Wine Dinner
Saturday at 6pm

Cru Cafe has partnered with their neighbor, Vicker’s Liquors, to host a Valentine’s Weekend Wine Dinner on Saturday, February 13th.
The five course pre-fixe menu will be paired with wines from Vicker’s Liquors, Elizabeth Moniz will be on hand as a sommelier to explain the pairing of each course.
The night will kick off with a “Welcome House” beginning at 6pm and dinner will begin at 7pm. Tickets are $55 per person and reservations are now being accepted at 401-314-0500. More Info
11 – Wine Tasting & Pairing
Sunday from 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Grab your favorite sweetheart for a fun afternoon of wine tasting and painting at Greenvale Vineyards. Get your creative juices flowing by enjoying a sample of Greenvale Vineyards seven (7) estate wines! Mermaid Masterpieces will then take you step by step to create a work of art directly on to a wine bottle! 12 – Valentine’s Day Fundraiser with The Booze Brothers
Sunday at 5pm
Booze Brothers will be providing entertainment for a fundraiser for Cathy Vaughan-Smith. They are having a $10 donation at the door, that includes a Team Cathy t-shirt. While supplies last. 13 – Rhody Beer & Cheese Pairing
Sunday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Newport Storm Brewery and Narragansett Creamery are teaming up to bring you the best of local flavor. Experience a local beer and cheese pairing with five locally brewed beers and five locally made cheeses to show off the best Rhode Island artisan agriculture has to offer. These events start promptly at 5:30pm, plan to arrive 15 minutes before the event. Tickets are $15/$12 w/bracelet and are available in the Tickets/Seasonal section of www.NewportStorm.com.

14 – Screening of Sleepless In Seattle
Sunday at 7pm
Jane Pickens Theater and Events Center is planning a very special nostalgic and romantic evening with a screening of Sleepless In Seattle on Valentine’s Day. A screening of the 1993 romantic drama film will be shown at 7:00pm and tickets for this special Valentine’s Day screening are just $15. The $15 includes the “Sleepless Valentines Package”, this includes a ticket to the film, a small gourmet candy, a rose and an onscreen “Happy Valentine’s Day message” that will be shown on the screen at Jane Pickens Theater screen before the film.
Jane Pickens Theater does offer a cash bar with beer, wine and cocktails for those 21+.
15 – Love & Laughter

There is no better way to celebrate the day of LOVE than with LAUGHTER! Grab your sweetie and go see RI’s most award-winning comedy troupe, The Bit Players, on Valentine’s Day this year.
