The Rhode Island Department of State has published its Voter Information Handbook for the Nov. 3 general election, with copies going out by mail to every household in the state over the coming weeks.
The handbook explains the three ways to vote — by mail, early in person, or on Election Day — and lays out the five statewide bond questions. It also lists contact information for the Department of State, the Board of Elections, Disability Rights Rhode Island and local boards of canvassers, along with guidance for voters who need assistance at the polls.
“Voters have many choices to make on Election Day — but voting should never be a pop quiz,” said Secretary of State Gregg Amore.
The handbook covers statewide questions only. For local races and any local ballot questions, the department points voters to sample ballots at vote.ri.gov, where residents can also register or check their registration status.
