Newport City Hall

The Newport City Council will address concerns about lead pipes in the city’s drinking water system with a workshop on Thursday, February 20.

Set for 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, the meeting will outline the city’s plan to deal with lead pipes that connect some homes to the water supply.

Councilor Xay Khamsyvoravong emphasized the importance of the workshop in a recent email to supporters. He invited residents interested in learning more about the drinking water system and the city’s approach to lead pipe removal.

The workshop aims to give residents a clear picture of Newport’s water infrastructure and the proposed solutions for getting rid of lead pipes.

Anyone can attend the meeting, which will take place in the Council Chambers at 43 Broadway, Newport.
