The Middletown Town Council meeting set for Jan. 21 is now moved to Jan. 27 at 5:30 pm. Town officials announced this change on Tuesday, citing multiple reasons for the delay.

The council has expressed regret for any issues this last-minute change might cause.

The upcoming meeting’s agenda covers several important topics, including:

  • Pre-budget talks with the School Committee for fiscal year 2025-2026
  • Progress reports on current school and library construction projects
  • Public discussions about liquor license transfers and new applications
  • Possible zoning changes to allow movie theaters, arcades, and bowling alleys in specific areas

Town Administrator Greg Huet is expected to give updates on both the school and library building projects during the meeting.

The council will also look at appointing new members to various town groups, such as the Affordable Housing Committee, Planning Board, and Tree Commission.
