RIDOT has announced mobile operations at the Newport Pell Bridge Approaches and alternating lane closures on East Main Rd., Meeting House Ln., Simmons Rd., Highland Rd., and Rte. 77 (Main Rd.) in Little Compton and Tiverton for November 16 – 22, 2024.

In Newport, mobile operations will continue at the Pell Bridge approaches with minimal traffic impact. Mobile crews will complete electrical and signage installation sitewide.

Weekday commuters in Little Compton should anticipate alternating lane closures on East Main Rd. (from Simmons Rd. to Peckham Rd.), Meeting House Ln. (from Main Rd. to Commons St.), and Simmons Rd. (from Willow Rd. to East Main Rd.) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Alternating lane closures will occur for guardrail installation.

Tiverton will also experience alternating lane closures due to driveway work. **The following closures will be in effect from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Highland Rd., from Bridgeport Rd. to Main Rd.; Rte. 77 (Main Rd.), from Bridgeport Rd. to Central Ave.

All schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and seek alternate routes if possible.
