In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, Conexion Latina, a nonprofit organization serving Hispanic Aquidneck Island residents, will host its second annual Festival Latino on September 21st from 12 pm to 6 pm on the Great Friends Meeting House Lawn.

“Festival Latina is the only Aquidneck Island public celebration of the community of people that work tirelessly to keep our island beautiful and our economy thriving, and maintain our vacation destination reputation around the world,” organizers say in a press release. “It is a day when all residents can come together and learn about the culture, family and beauty they have to share”.

The event will include live Latin music and DJ Latina dance performances, an education tent with dance, music, and other arts workshops, a children’s parade, Latin food trucks and food vendors, artisans and vendors, non-profits sharing resources, mechanical bull rides, a clown show and other activities.

Festival Latino is a free family event and is open to the public. The event will happen rain or shine.
