Jamestown Community Theatre presents Merrily We Roll Along, Nov. 19–22

Jamestown Community Theatre will stage Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” over four days next month at the Jamestown Recreation Center.

The musical follows composer Franklin Shepard and his two closest friends through the choices that shape their lives. Frank achieves extraordinary professional success at a steep personal cost, and the story is told in reverse — tracing fractured relationships and competing ambitions backward through the years to arrive at the beginning, with three young dreamers whose friendship has yet to be tested.

Sondheim’s score includes “Old Friends,” “Our Time,” “Not a Day Goes By” and “Franklin Shepard, Inc.”

Danny Landino stars as Franklin Shepard, with Alex Rossi as Charley Kringas and Meg Carnaroli as Mary Flynn. Featured performers include Jordan Rossi as Gussie Carnegie, Nishan Lawton as Joe Josephson and Cassondra Richards as Beth Spencer. Everett Araujo and Leo Martin-Dym share the role of Frank Junior.

Ricky Martin directs, with music direction by Joseph Carvalho and choreography by Amanda Del Vecchio, Sam Mathias and Elle Roy.

The show has music and lyrics by Sondheim and a book by George Furth, based on the 1934 play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. It is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
