The Sitkovetsky Trio will perform at Rough Point on Tuesday, Sept. 29, as part of Puddingstone Music’s salon series. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the concert at 7:30, and small bites and drinks are included.
The program, titled “Romanticism and Musical Poetry,” includes Beethoven’s Piano Trio in D major, known as the “Ghost” for its slow second movement; Schumann’s Piano Trio No. 3 in G minor, written in 1851; and Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 1. Readings of letters from the period are woven through the performance.
The trio has played the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, the Louvre and Lincoln Center, and has won the BBC Music Magazine chamber award and first prize at the Commerzbank International Chamber Music Competition.
Tickets are at puddingstonemusic.org.
