NEWPORT, R.I. — Rogers beat the EWG/Prout co-op 30-0 on Friday night at Toppa Field, scoring on the ground, through a defensive return and without ever letting the Scarlet Knights into the end zone.

Brayden Ward carried 19 times for 126 yards and a touchdown. Keivan Rivera added 37 yards and a score on six carries, and Joziyah Coffield ran three times for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Rafael Palencia completed 3 of 5 passes for 33 yards and ran five times for 60 yards, converting two 2-point attempts. Jajuan Taylor, Colin Cabarrus and Jayvian Perez each had a catch.

Jay Northup returned a fumble 45 yards for a touchdown. William Spring was 2 for 2 on extra points.

Jason Abdullah, Elijah Abdullah, Juelz Peer and Cabarrus led the defense in the shutout.

EWG/Prout entered the night 0-2.
