The Middletown Public Library is holding an after-dark candlelight tour of Belcourt of Newport on Friday, Oct. 2, as a fundraiser for its new building project.

Guides will lead visitors through the Bellevue Avenue mansion by candlelight, covering its Gilded Age history and architecture along with the ghost stories the property has collected over the years. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the tour runs from 7 to 8:30.

Tickets are $40 and required in advance, available at 3common.com/library. Half the proceeds go to the library, earmarked for furnishings, technology, equipment and materials for its future home.
