TIVERTON — The Tiverton Public Library has released its September schedule of adult programs, ranging from a live-accompanied silent film screening to a book club that meets in a cat café.

Film and music. Buster Keaton’s 1928 comedy “The Cameraman” screens Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m., with Richard Hughes introducing the film and accompanying it on piano. Snacks provided. Earlier in the month, Ocean State Media hosts a premiere screening of “Our Town Tiverton” on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m. — registration required, space limited. Art House Film Night on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. features “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” presented with the Tiverton Arts Council.

Books and writing. Local author Deb Curtis discusses her debut novel “Laws of Love and Logic” with the morning book group on Friday, Sept. 11, at 10:30 a.m.; the evening group takes up the same book Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. Bajah’s Book Club meets in the cat room at Bajah’s Cat Café, 137 Main Road, on Monday, Sept. 14, at 12:30 p.m. to discuss “The Incredible Journey.” The Union Public Library book group discusses “Raising Hare” on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. The Sakonnet Writers Group, a drop-in prompt-driven group for writers 18 and up, meets Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tech Tuesdays. A five-week series at 2 p.m. compares Microsoft and Google tools: Word and Docs (Sept. 1), Excel and Sheets (Sept. 8), PowerPoint and Slides (Sept. 15), OneDrive and Drive (Sept. 22), and a pricing and packages overview (Sept. 29). Registration required. One-on-one tech help is also available all month by appointment.

Making things. Crochet Club meets Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. and is open to teens and adults. The Weekly Watercolor Group gathers Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Craft Circle is Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., and the Cross Stitching Group meets Sept. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. — bring your own supplies for all three. Local artist John Irwin leads a two-hour acrylic painting session Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 3:30 p.m. with materials supplied. An Adult Crafternoon on Monday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. turns paperback covers into art projects; bring your own book.

Health and services. Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice offers a free blood pressure and wellness clinic Thursday, Sept. 3, from 1 to 2 p.m., with vital signs, periodic cholesterol and glucose screenings, medication review and health questions. The United Way 2-1-1 RV visits the library parking lot Thursday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., connecting people with housing, food and childcare resources.
