Newport Polo intends to send August out in spectacular fashion on Saturday, August 29 when Newport vs. Palm Beach returns to Glen Farm’s BD Field for the 15th installment of one of the Newport International Polo Series’ favorite city rivalries—a spirited meeting of two of America’s most glamorous resort destinations during the Club’s historic 150th Diamond Jubilee season. Newport Polo hosts Palm Beach at BD Field on Saturday, Aug. 29, the 15th meeting between the two resort towns since the City Series began in 2011.

The match is set for 5 p.m., with gates opening at 1. It falls during the club’s 150th anniversary season and closes out the August schedule. Palm Beach’s squad is sponsored by Kinsella Building.

This week’s Stella Artois Best in Show theme is “Worth Avenue Whites,” with spectators encouraged to come dressed head to toe in white.

At halftime, spectators are invited onto the field for the divot stomp, a longstanding polo tradition in which the crowd helps replace turf displaced during the first three chukkers. This week one marker hidden on the field will win its finder a five-day, four-night trip for two to Barbados, presented with Barbados Tourism.

Aston Martin Boston and Lotus Boston will display British performance cars on the field, with a reveal of the Lotus Emira 420 Sport at 3:30 p.m.

The afternoon closes with the club’s Champagne trophy presentation and player autograph signing. Tickets and match information are at newportpolo.com.
