Miguel “Macho” Collazo

Miguel, 48, of Newport, Rhode Island, unexpectedly passed away on July 1, 2026.

Born on May 19, 1978, in Brooklyn, New York, Miguel was raised in Newport, Rhode Island, where he developed the values of family, friendship, and hard work that defined his life.

Miguel lived life on the edge. He was known for his infectious, raspy laugh, his love of loud music, and his ability to bring energy and joy wherever he went. Whether at a family cookout, working on cars, or simply being the life of the party, Miguel had a way of making every moment memorable.

He had a passion for mechanical work and enjoyed spending time working on cars. Traveling was another of his greatest joys, and he frequently visited Georgia, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Rhode Island to spend time with family and loved ones. No matter where life took him, Miguel always made it a priority to be present for the holidays, ensuring he could create lasting memories with his family, friends, and children.

He is survived by his parents, Nelly and Alfonzo; his children, Walter Siberon, Miguel Collazo, and Edwin Collazo; his grandchildren, Bryson and Willow; his sisters, Nellie and Eyleen; his brother, Pedro; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Miguel will be remembered for his generous spirit, unforgettable personality, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memorial services will be held privately at the family’s request.
