The Tiverton Public Library will host a free talk titled “Rethinking Lawns” on Wednesday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m.
The presentation will be given by Emily Dutra of Butterfly Effect Farm and will cover the history of lawns, how to treat them organically and alternatives to traditional lawns, according to the library. The event is open to the public and will be held at the library at 34 Roosevelt Ave. in Tiverton.
Butterfly Effect Farm is a native plant nursery in Westport, Massachusetts, that grows and sells plants intended to serve ecological purposes, according to the announcement. The farm said its focus is on native, seed-grown, keystone and pollinator plants that provide habitat, food and nectar for insects and wildlife, and that it aims to make native plants more accessible.
More information is available through the Tiverton Public Library.
