The Newport Democratic City Committee will host Rhode Island Secretary of State Gregg Amore for a public event focused on voting rights and election integrity later this month.

“An Evening with Secretary of State Gregg Amore” is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Elks Lodge, 141 Pelham St. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

Amore is expected to address issues affecting Rhode Island voters, including the new postmark rule and its impact on mail-in ballots, as well as current federal administration requests for voter information. A question-and-answer session will follow his remarks.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at newportdems.org/events. The committee asks attendees to purchase in advance to guarantee a seat. Those with financial need can email members@newportdems.org for assistance.
