Spectacle Live will present Marc Roberge of O.A.R. on Wednesday, April 29, at 7:30 pm at The JPT Film & Event Center in Newport (contributed)

Marc Roberge, frontman of multi-platinum alt-rock band O.A.R., will bring his solo tour to The JPT Film & Event Center on Wednesday, April 29. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

Presented by Spectacle Live, the evening promises a more intimate experience than a typical O.A.R. concert. Roberge’s solo shows feature stripped-back renditions of O.A.R. fan favorites, a selection of covers, and candid conversations with the audience — a format he has described as rooted in the classic country troubadour tradition.

Roberge has fronted O.A.R. since the Maryland-bred band formed in 1996, helping build a devoted global fanbase through performances at some of the world’s most storied venues. The band released its tenth studio album, “The Arcade,” in 2022. Over the past decade, Roberge has also developed a parallel solo career, using smaller theater settings to spotlight the more personal and folk-leaning side of his songwriting.

He is currently at work on a debut solo album, with the possibility of special guests.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 20, at noon at JanePickens.com or by calling 1-800-657-8774.
