Charlotte and Noah were the most popular baby names in Rhode Island in 2025, according to preliminary data released Monday by the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Charlotte topped the list for girls for the second consecutive year, with 51 babies given the name. Noah led the boys’ list with 63 babies, jumping from third place in 2024.
Olivia and Amelia rounded out the top three female names, with 40 and 36 babies respectively. Liam and Oliver followed Noah on the boys’ list, with 61 and 60 babies.
The full top 10 for girls included Isabella, Sophia, Aurora, Ava, Maeve, Nora and Isla. Theodore, Benjamin, Luca, Lucas, Henry, John and Jack completed the boys’ top 10.
Some notable shifts occurred from last year’s rankings. Mia, which held the second spot for girls in 2024, dropped out of the top 10 entirely. Liam, the top boys’ name in 2024, slipped to second place behind Noah. Lucas fell from second to seventh on the boys’ list.
RIDOH’s Center for Vital Records will finalize the 2025 birth data by the end of February.
