House of Waves, Newport, RI

The Arts and Cultural Alliance of Newport County will kick off a new season of Arts Around the Fire on Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sardella’s Restaurant, 30 Memorial Blvd. West.

The free event is open to the public and requires no reservations. The guest will be Patrick Murphy, founder and builder of House of Waves.

Murphy, a photographer known as The Kings Lens, opened House of Waves at 154 Broadway in June 2024. The venue has developed into a hub of creative activity and community.

Arts Around the Fire provides an opportunity for artists, writers, performers and audiences to engage with colleagues about events affecting the cultural community and to learn about new ideas and artistic endeavors.

Attendees can sign up for an artist membership or become a supporting member of the Alliance, a coalition of individuals and nonprofits committed to the advancement of arts and culture in Newport County.

Since 1994, the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Newport County has promoted arts and culture in Newport County. The member-supported nonprofit offers events, networking opportunities, support for artist members and hosts arts and cultural events.
