The Newport Independent Music Festival will conclude its 2025 summer concert series Sunday with a performance by Guess Method and opener Helena Rose at the King Park Gazebo.
The free, family-friendly event runs from 3 to 6 p.m. at the waterfront venue at 125 Wellington Ave., which overlooks Newport Harbor, Goat Island and the Newport Bridge.
Guess Method, a New England-based ensemble, blends melodic jazz-infused rhythms with funk and rock to create what organizers describe as an infectious, groove-driven sound. The band’s contemporary style is designed to engage both longtime fans and newcomers.
Helena Rose, a local singer, educator and Berklee College of Music alumna, will open the show. Rose performs throughout New England as a solo artist and collaborates with The Sultans and Grammy-nominated engineer Alexandr Krepkihk for recording sessions. She also sings with the New York-based semi-professional choir Vox Lusciniae.
NIMFest has become a popular summer concert series in Newport, celebrating local and regional artists in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event receives ongoing support from the Hamilton Family Foundation and is produced by North End Entertainment and the New England Music Organization, with presentation by the Hamilton Family Foundation and the city of Newport.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for the outdoor concert. Organizers recommend carpooling due to limited parking. Alcohol is not permitted in the park.
