Newport Vineyards is marking its 30th anniversary with the release of two limited-edition wines and a series of celebratory events throughout the fall.
The vineyard, founded by brothers John and Paul Nunes in 1995, will debut Milestone Blanc and Milestone Red during its exclusive Milestone Release Weekend from Aug. 22-24.
Milestone Blanc is an unoaked white wine made from select estate Dijon clone Chardonnay grapes. Milestone Red is a bold, oak-aged red crafted exclusively from estate-grown Blaufränkisch grapes.
What started as a modest vineyard has evolved into an award-winning winery, craft brewery, farm-to-table restaurant and event venue on Aquidneck Island.
The anniversary celebrations continue with several events:
— Aug. 30: “30% on the 30th” wine case discount on featured wines — Sept. 21: “Cheers to 30 Years” Cider Festival — Oct. 17: Harvest VIP Tour & Tasting with owners and winemakers — Oct. 19: “Cheers to 30 Years” Harvest Festival
Newport Vineyards has grown to become New England’s largest grape grower, producing nearly 30,000 cases of estate-grown wine annually using sustainable farming practices across 100 acres of historically preserved farmland.
The operation expanded significantly following a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2015 and the launch of Taproot Brewing Co. in 2018. The vineyard now offers wine tastings, weekly beer releases, a farm-to-table culinary program, seasonal live music and private events.
