Newport Classical announced Tuesday a 12-concert chamber music series running from September 2025 through June 2026, with tickets going on sale to the public July 29.
The fifth annual Chamber Series will feature world-class musicians performing Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at Newport Classical Recital Hall on Dearborn Street, the organization said in a press release.
Trevor Neal, director of artistic planning, said the series brings “world-class musicians from around the world – both celebrated performers and rising stars” to the downtown venue.
The season opens Sept. 12 with the Poiesis Quartet, 2023 Grand Prize winner of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Other notable performers include violinist Blake Pouliot with pianist Henry Kramer on Oct. 3, and baritone Benjamin Appl performing Schubert’s “Die Winterreise” on March 13.
Single tickets start at $45, with package deals available. AARP members receive discounts, and free student tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis through a grant from the Gruben Charitable Foundation.
All performing musicians will visit Newport-area public schools as part of the organization’s Music Education and Engagement Initiative, the organization said.
The series runs concurrent with Newport Classical’s other programming, including free community concerts sponsored by BankNewport and holiday programs to be announced later this year.
Founded in 1969, Newport Classical hosts an annual summer festival and year-round programming at historic venues throughout Newport and Aquidneck Island.
