The 28th Annual IYRS Summer Gala last night successfully merged maritime heritage with musical prowess, raising significant funds for the IYRS School of Technology & Trades. The fundraising event, hosted at IYRS, welcomed 650 guests for an evening dedicated to supporting the nation’s premier marine trades and modern manufacturing school.

The gala featured a cocktail reception, followed by a dinner and live auction that generated thousands of dollars for student financial assistance. The highlight of the night was a powerful performance by The Legendary Wailers, featuring Junior Marvin, the iconic Jamaican guitarist who played with Bob Marley & The Wailers. Marvin delivered a captivating set, ensuring Bob Marley’s musical legacy resonated with new generations.

Proceeds from the event directly benefit IYRS’s mission, where nearly 80 percent of students receive financial aid to pursue hands-on education in crucial fields like boatbuilding, composites technology, and marine systems. With an impressive 87 percent graduate employment rate, IYRS continues to be a vital pathway for careers in skilled trades and advanced manufacturing.

Gala Co-Chairs Barbara van Beuren & Steve Glascock and Anne & Matt Hamilton oversaw the successful event.
