At least 12 people were detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Nantucket on Tuesday, May 27, according to local news.
Footage from the Nantucket Current shows several handcuffed people on board a US Coast Guard boat departing the island on Tuesday afternoon.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reposted the video, using it as a warning to illegal immigrants to self-deport or face arrest.
According to the Nantucket Current, federal agents stopped multiple vehicles across the island early on Tuesday morning, taking at least a dozen suspected illegal immigrants into custody.
The Current reported that, according to ICE, the arrests included a documented member of the MS-13 gang, and at least one child sex offender.
