The Spring market is in full swing across Newport County, with thirteen residential properties closing over the past week in Jamestown, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth, and Tiverton. Activity ranged from luxury homes to more modest opportunities, highlighting the continued strength and variety of the local market.
The highest sale of the week was 55 Howland Avenue in Jamestown, a charming cottage that closed for $1,320,000. On the other end of the spectrum, a one-bedroom fixer-upper cottage on Prudence Island at 02 Raphael Avenue traded for $130,000, showing that there are still opportunities at different price points for those willing to put in some work.
Open houses in the area this past weekend were busy, reflecting the seasonality that always accompanies the arrival of spring and the early influx of visitors and seasonal residents to Newport County. We are firmly still in a seller’s market, with demand outpacing inventory and well-positioned homes moving quickly. With tourism ramping up and more buyers entering the market, competition for available properties is expected to remain high throughout the coming months.
