Newport Sings, a local non-profit offering free community chorus programs on Aquidneck Island, is gearing up for its first fundraiser. The “Sing Me a Song” event is set for June 8 at the Common Fence Point Arts, Wellness & Community Center in Portsmouth, R.I.
The evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with drinks and appetizers, followed by performances from Newport Sings members at 6 p.m. As the night winds down, guests can raise a glass to the organization’s future during the golden hour at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $75 per person, with all proceeds supporting Newport Sings’ 2025-2026 programs. The organization currently provides choral programs to over 200 youth and adults across the island.
“We’re excited to celebrate our joyful voices and boost the future of Newport Sings!” a spokesperson for the group said.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, and there are sponsorship opportunities for those looking to give extra support.
Space is limited, so RSVP by May 23 if you’re planning to attend. For more details and to buy tickets, check out the Newport Sings website at https://www.newportsings.org/event-details/sing-me-a-song.
