The Newport Folk Festival continued rolling out its lineup for its 2025 event on Monday, March 31, with a big announcement that Country music artist Luke Combs would be performing on Saturday, July 26.

Luke Combs has risen to prominence as a dominant figure in contemporary country music. Combs’s debut album, “This One’s for You,” released in 2017, achieved significant commercial success, as did his subsequent albums. He has consistently topped country music charts with singles like “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours,” and “Beautiful Crazy.”

Notably, his rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” garnered widespread acclaim, culminating in a joint performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Combs’s accolades include multiple Country Music Association Awards, solidifying his status as a leading artist in the genre.

Set for July 25-27, the festival has already sold out but continues to reveal its performer list, with more names expected in the weeks ahead.

So far, Friday’s schedule includes Snacktime, Hannah Cohen, Jessica Pratt, Kevin Morby, MJ Lenderman, Kim Deal, Alex G, and The Deslondes.

Luke Combs, Flipturn, Bonny Light Horseman, Ken Pomeroy, Saya Gray, Dan Reeder, Illiterate Light, Iron & Wine, I’m With Her, Mon Rovîa, Jesse Welles, Julien Baker & Torres, and Waxahatchee are already lined up for Saturday.

Margo Price, Dehd, Sammy Rae & Friends, Stephen Wilson Jr., Hurray For The Riff Raff, Michael Kiwanuka, BCUC, Mt. Joy, and Jeff Tweedy are scheduled to perform on Sunday.

General admission tickets vanished within minutes on Feb. 5, even before any artists were announced.

The Newport Festivals Foundation is awarding grants on behalf of the announced performers.
