Rhode Island drivers, heads up! The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) has some lane closures planned for March 9-15 that might affect your commute.

On the Newport Claiborne Pell Bridge, expect the eastbound right lane to be closed from March 10-14, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are also overnight closures set for March 13 and 14, with lanes alternating east and west from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

If you’re crossing the Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge, the westbound right lane will be closed March 11-14, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Sakonnet River Bridge will have its southbound left lane closed on March 12, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Good news for those using the Route 138 Connector or Mount Hope Bridge – no closures are planned there this week.

Keep in mind that these plans can change. For the latest updates, check out RITBA’s Real Time Traffic Updates at http://www.ritba.org/travel-alerts.
