Newport Mental Health is proud to announce the Midwinter Veterans Resource Fair taking place on January 16 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the CCRI Newport Campus Atrium, located at 1 John H. Chafee Blvd., Newport. This free event is open to all veterans and their families and aims to connect attendees with a variety of services and support options.
Coordinated by Erika Westbrook, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and the Veterans Services Program Coordinator at Newport Mental Health, the event is designed to help veterans access the resources they need with assistance from those who truly understand their experiences.
“Serving veterans isn’t just about providing services—it’s about providing support from people who get it,” said Westbrook. “As a veteran myself, I know how important it is to speak with someone who understands your needs firsthand. This event is about connecting veterans to services and giving them the chance to talk to people who share a common bond and who can help them navigate the process.”
The fair will feature a wide range of organizations and services, including opportunities to meet with claims agents from the Veterans Benefit Agency. Veterans can also connect with the dedicated staff of the Veterans Services Programs at Newport Mental Health, Thrive Behavioral Health, Gateway Healthcare, or The Vet Center, or learn about the educational opportunities offered at the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI).

Whether you’re seeking help with VA benefits, mental health services, or just want to learn more about the local veteran community, this event offers a welcoming space to meet people who understand the challenges you face and can point you toward the resources you need. For more information, contact Newport Mental Health at (401) 846-1213.
