The National Sailing Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for its Class of 2025 until December 31, 2024.

Based in Newport, the organization is asking sailing enthusiasts across the country to nominate individuals who’ve made notable contributions to the sport on a national or international scale.

Spike Lobdell, who heads the Selection Committee, explains the selection process, “Unlike the selection processes of many other Hall of Fames, ours starts with nominations from the public at-large. This signifies the breadth of individual skills and experiences that make an
impact on our sport on a national level. We look for those in the sailing community with a lasting and expansive positive impact. The public has a critical role to play in helping us honor quality legends of our sport.”

The Hall of Fame seeks nominees who show exceptional talent, dedication, and positive influence in the sailing community. This includes trailblazing sailors, creative designers, and committed contributors who’ve impacted sailing’s history.

To be considered, nominations must be submitted through the online process on The Sailing Museum & National Sailing Hall of Fame website at thesailingmuseum.org. It’s important to note that nominations sent directly to staff, Board Members, or Selection Committee members will not be accepted.

The Class of 2025 Induction ceremony is set for September 24-25, 2025, in Newport.
