opinion Newport Rhode Island

Dear Newport Voters,

I am writing to offer my enthusiastic endorsement for Elizabeth “Beth” Cullen as a candidate for the Newport School Committee. I had the pleasure of working closely with Beth on a zoning issue that threatened one of Newport’s historic neighborhoods. Together, we successfully opposed the construction of an oversized wedding facility and hotel on the waterfront. Beth was instrumental, bringing her unwavering dedication, problem-solving skills, and commitment to preserving Newport’s heritage.

Having served on one of Massachusetts’ top school districts for nine years, I know the challenges. Beth has the vision, energy, and skills needed to help Newport’s schools thrive. Her pragmatic approach and passion for education make her an ideal leader who will advocate for students, teachers, and families.

Beth’s collaborative spirit and ability to bring diverse perspectives together will be invaluable. She will ensure all students in Newport have the resources they need to reach their full potential. I am confident her leadership will make a lasting positive impact on our community.

Sincerely,

Charles Donahue
