The Detroit Pistons announced that forward Cole Swider has signed a two-way contract. Per team policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Swider, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward, appeared in 18 games with the Miami Heat last season and seven games with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2022-23 season. He has also played in 41 career NBA G League games, averaging 19.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Last season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the NBA G League affiliate of the Miami Heat, Swider averaged 24.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 14 games.

The Portsmouth, Rhode Island native played college basketball at Villanova and Syracuse. After three seasons with the Wildcats, where he averaged 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 77 games, Swider spent his senior season with the Orange. In 33 games with the Orange, he averaged 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals.
