The Newport Police Department logs reveal several arrests and incidents between Wednesday and Thursday morning.

A 35-year-old woman faces multiple charges following a series of events early Wednesday morning. At 12:45 a.m., officers arrested her for violating a no-contact order. Less than an hour later, at 1:39 a.m., she was taken into custody again, this time charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and a second violation of a no-contact order.

The woman’s address was withheld from the police report, which is common practice in cases that may involve domestic disputes or sensitive personal information.

Later that evening, at 9:45 p.m., police encountered another incident involving a 35-year-old male from Jamestown, R.I. The man was summoned and cited for disorderly conduct and simple assault or battery.

As of 7 a.m. Thursday, no additional arrests were reported on Thursday by the Newport Police Department.

At 9:45 pm, a 35-year-old male from Jamestown, Rhode Island was summoned/cited on a charge of Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault or Battery.
