I’m excited to endorse Ellen Pinnock for First Ward Councilor in Newport. Ellen has been working tirelessly for years to give back to Newport, and that dedication will continue while she serves on the City Council.
Ellen’s commitment to Newport is unwavering. She has been deeply embedded in our community through her career at FabNewport, her work as a resident advisor with the Newport Health Equity Zone, and her multiple volunteer positions. She currently serves on the Ad-Hoc Bridge Realignment Property Advisory Commission, ensuring that the community’s voice is heard. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Salve Regina University’s Pathways Program, co-chairs ReNewport, and is a Board Member of Newport Partnership for Families. In recognition of her hard work, Ellen has recently been awarded the League of Women Voters’ Joan Arnold Community Service Award.
Being an effective City Councilor takes care, dedication, and a strong work ethic. Newport needs councilors who are energized and committed to progress and who will engage residents in our government processes. Ellen’s experience as a community organizer and advocate will serve her well on the City Council. I hope you’ll join me in voting for Ellen Pinnock for Newport City Council Ward in the September 10th Primary Election.
